THE PRINT JOURNAL
At Toho Journal, we cut to the essential. We want pieces that speak to our very core.
We seek to create a platform for the writers, poets, artists, and photographers of Philadelphia—and beyond. And we aim to invigorate Philadelphian literature by amplifying its many diverse voices—both emerging and established.
That said, while we focus on Philadelphia, creatives of all geographies (and stages) are invited to submit. For our submission guidelines, go here.
THE FIRST EDITION
In May 2019, Toho Journal launched its first edition. We are proud to have published over 50 writers, poets, and artists.
Our launch sold out—and we sold out of journals too! Below are some pictures of the event. Join us at the next one!

TOHO JOURNAL ONLINE
Because we can only publish so many pieces in print, we knew that we were missing out on a trove of pieces that deserved to published. So we created an online journal!
The editing team for the two journals are separate, but our mission is the same: we seek to amplify diverse voices and to publish essential work that moves us.
Pieces selected for publication are either published in the print or the online journal. Check out a few select images from the online journal below.
